“That perspective is essential as we prepare for commercialization,” Fonseca said.

EndoQuest Robotics has hired Jared Eben as its new chief commercial officer ahead of the planned U.S. launch of its flexible robotic surgery system next year. Eben arrives from HCA Healthcare, where he served as vice president of robotics, AI, and neuroscience. His background includes roles at Proximie and Auris Health, giving him experience in both device development and health-care operations.

The appointment is part of a broader effort to align commercial strategy with clinical practice. By bringing a leader who has worked inside large health systems, the firm hopes to smooth the path from prototype to routine use.

The company’s CEO, Eduardo Fonseca, emphasized Eben’s ability to bridge gaps between technology and bedside adoption. “That perspective is essential as we prepare for commercialization,” Fonseca said. “Our goal is not simply to place systems, but to help clinical teams build sustainable robotic endoluminal surgery programs.”

The system is designed for procedures performed through natural orifices, which should lower recovery times and reduce trauma associated with incisions. Early clinical trial data from fifty robotic endoscopic submucosal dissection procedures reported no device-related bleeding or perforation, and an en-bloc resection rate of one hundred percent, meaning every lesion was removed intact.

Building on those results, the firm is now preparing a de novo FDA classification request to obtain market authorization.

Eben’s immediate priorities include establishing physician training programs, integrating the device into existing surgical workflows, and demonstrating economic value for patients, doctors, and health-care systems. His role reflects EndoQuest’s focus on adoption readiness, especially as the launch depends on securing CPT codes that become effective in January.

The company’s approach differs from traditional rigid robotic platforms by emphasizing flexibility and minimally invasive access. Trial data suggests possible advantages in safety and precision, yet widespread adoption will still rely on FDA clearance and acceptance by providers.
